February 13, 2023: The State of the Athens Neighborhood

The ACC Federation of Neighborhoods is returning for 2023! The first Federation of Neighborhoods forum will be on Monday, February 13 at 7:00pm at Cine, entitled “The State of the Athens Neighborhood”. This forum will focus on the most pressing issues and opportunities facing Athens in 2023 and will include panelists: Mayor Kelly Girtz, CCSD Superintendent Dr. Robbie Hooker, Athens Well-Being Project director Dr. Grace Bagwell Adams, Athens Chamber of Commerce President David Bradley.

The ACC Federation of Neighborhoods is a coalition of neighborhoods, community groups, and individuals that has existed in Athens since the 1960s. The ACC Federation of Neighborhoods exists to study and inform neighborhood groups and residents about local issues that affect them.A full slate of forums is scheduled for the second Monday of every month in 2023 (except July), including: Atlanta Hwy & Mall Redevelopment (March 13); Gang and Crime Prevention (April 10); Housing in Athens (May 8); Arts in Athens! (June 12); Restorative Justice (August 14); Elections in ACC (September 11); Helping the Unhoused (October 9); ACC & UGA Relations (November 13); ACC FON Holiday Party! (December 11).  All forums are free and open to the public.
