The Federation of Neighborhoods will host a forum on “The Arts in Athens” on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 7:00pm at Ciné. The forum will feature Didi Dunphy, Lyndon House Arts Center, Program Supervisor; Broderick Flanigan, Artist and Community Organizer; Michael Lachowski, Georgia Museum of Art, Public Relations; Ryan Lewis, University of Georgia, Georgia Music Exhibit Coordinator; Dan Smith, Clarke County School District, Curriculum Coordinator for Fine Arts, Health, and PE.

This forum will be a wide-ranging discussion about the current state of arts opportunities and education in Athens. Panelists will discuss their own role, expertise, and experience with the arts in the Classic City. The moderator will ask the panelists targeted questions and each will have an opportunity to respond. The forum will also provide an opportunity for community members to share their thoughts and ask questions of the panelists.

All Federation of Neighborhood forums are free and open to the public. Thank you to Ciné for helping sponsor the cost of rental of the Lab.

The Federation of Neighborhoods is an independent, non-partisan volunteer-run coalition of neighborhoods, community groups, and individuals that has existed in Athens since the 1960s. The Federation of Neighborhoods works to inform Athens-Clarke County residents about local issues that affect them, primarily through hosting monthly forums.
