The Federation of Neighborhoods presents “What’s Up Downtown?” a free public forum on Monday, September 9 from 7:30-9:00pm in Ciné Lab Space.

Come hear from a variety of local organizations and Athens-Clarke County Government departments about what is going on downtown. What even are the downtown boundaries? What’s up with beautification efforts? What is new and upcoming in arts and culture? How do we attract tourism and new businesses to downtown? More importantly, are we making downtown welcoming and inviting for ALL Athenians? Will College Avenue EVER be converted to a pedestrian-only town square? Come hear the answers to these questions and bring some of your own!

Confirmed panelists include:

–David Lynn, Athens Downtown Development Authority

–Knowa or Mokah Johnson, Athens Anti Discrimination Movement

–Andrew Salinas and Helen Kuykendall, Athens Cultural Affairs Commission

–Jeremiah Cook, Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau

Join your neighbors – hear and be heard!

All residents of the Athens area are encouraged to attend this free forum held at Cine, located at 234 West Hancock Ave – call Cine at 706-353-3343 for directions. Refreshments are available at the Cine Bar-Cafe.
