April 8: Learn About Voucher Bills and Education in Athens

The Federation of Neighborhoods presents “Learn About Voucher Bills and Education in Athens” a free public forum on Monday, April 8 from 7:30-9:00pm in CinĂ© Lab Space.

Legislative efforts by the Georgia Assembly (Senate Bill 173 / House Bill 68) to enact educational scholarship accounts did not move forward this year before the end of the recent session. But what about future efforts to expand this type of educational voucher system? Listen and ask questions of panelists – including elected officials and school district administrators – about the impact educational scholarship accounts could have on schools in Athens-Clarke County.

Confirmed Forum Panelists (as of 3/30) include:
Bill Cowsert, State Senator, District 46
Greg Davis, Clarke County School Board Member, District 1
Frank Ginn, State Senator, District 47
Dr. Demond Means, Clarke County School District, Superintendent
Claire Suggs, Clarke County School District, Chief of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships
